Why is Safety Important to Us?
We researched and tested several different materials to find the best option for our children. We did not want to keep feeding our kids microplastics with every spoonful.
Our products are third party tested for quality and safety.

What are Microplastics? Why are they so bad?
Microplastics tiny plastic fragments less than 5 millimeters long, found everywhere from oceans to human tissue, resulting from larger plastics breaking down.
They are linked to inflammation, DNA damage, disruption of immune/endocrine systems, and cell death.

Plastic Children's Plates? NO!
Microplastics are a significant concern in children's dishes, as heating, scratching, and washing plastic plates, cups, and utensils release tiny plastic particles and chemicals (like BPA/phthalates) into food, with babies and young children being particularly vulnerable due to their developing systems and higher exposure through feeding products.
To reduce exposure, experts recommend using glass, ceramic, or stainless steel alternatives, avoiding microwaving or dishwashing plastic items, and choosing products without certain recycling codes (3, 6, 7).
Childish Plates are Ceramic and Third-Party Tested for all heavy metals, plastics and other endocrine disruptors.

Melamine is Toxic
We used to love our melamine plates, too, until we realized how harmful melamine is to the human body. Endocrine disrupting hormones are released any time the plate gets hot or cold. Yeah! Bad news. These toxic chemicals affect our kidneys and hormones.

As two moms, we set out to find a better plate for our children. When we couldn't find one, we decided to make it.
Childish Plates are a healthy alternative to plastic and melamine.
